Art Journal

I had watched on YouTube JournalArtista talk about an art journal where you can experiment and be really creative.  I loved the concept and decided to start my own.  Now my first take on this was very conservative since I had this fear I would “mess” up.  What I decided to do was experiment with some of the inks that I had never used and “wing” my layout.

I used Walnut distress ink on my background paper and it gave the paper a sort of portrait look like the school backgrounds.

I then added another mat that I inked with Walnut Distress ink and Vintage Photo ink.  I added a Making Memories pendant charm to a bookplate and placed it on the mat.

Finally I place a prima rose and a cameo in the left corner.  I know, really conservative but it was my first one.

Public Service announcement

My son and his group had to film a public service announcement for his high school TV production class.  He did the filming and editing.  He did such a good job they gave him an A.  Here is the video:

2nd Layout - Swirlydoos Kit

Hello Everyone

I created another layout with the Swirlydoos June monthly kit.  I used a photo that I took at Devil's Den at Gettysburg.

I used a Martha Stewart punch to create the boarder on a piece of designer paper.  I inked the edges with vintage photo and folded some of the edges to give it a distressed look.

I created a fan on the lower right corner of the layout.  I inked it with vintage photo, pleated the paper and added the gem ribbon included with the kit as the fringe.  I included the vintage pretty pin and some prima flowers to the edge.

I created a flourish from my cricut on some coordinating cardstock and placed it under the fan.  I added a prima flourish to lay slightly over top the flourish.

The title of the layout is Courage, Devil's Den because my son stood with courage at the opening of Devil's Den.

Thanks all for today.  Thanks for stopping by.
