You Rock

Hello Everyone!
Finally, I am now finished with working away from home that I am hoping to get more crafting in.  So sorry for the sporadic posting  but its my goal to get back on track.
This layout gave me a little trouble.  I wasn’t liking the way it was turning out so I stepped away for a little bit to get a fresh perspective.  I am pleased overall with the look but have decided to only do a 1 page layout instead of my normal two page one.

I used CTMH’s Your Rock paper for this layout. I used CTMH’s the works stamp set and Chocolate large for my title.  The is some tearing involved with the layout as well.  I added some brads and a button as embellishments.
DSCF3439One of my favorite parts of this layout is the right corner where I did most of the tearing.  I also stamped two large stars and two small stars, cut them out and layered them together.  I used dimensionals to give the stars the added pop.
Thanks for stopping by,

My Journal

Hello Everyone,

Close To My Heart, in their new spring catalog, has this really cute My Journal.  It is a spiral journal that has white pages inside and a sleeve on the outside that allows you to change the cover’s artwork.

I used the stamp set Cherished Flourished to stamp my corners.  I used some bling on the flourishes.  The flowers were created with the stamp set that comes in one of the WOTG kits Veranda.

journalcloseFor my sentiment I took one of the frames dimensional elements and colored with with Chocolate marker, let it dry and colored it again.  I then stamped it with Versa Mark ink and clear embossed it to make it shinny.

I love the way this turned out.  It is so me.  Now I can’t wait to start filling my journal.  I have started to let go of rules on traditional scrapbooking and now look for all kinds of things to scrap.  As I create my pages, I will take pictures to show.

Thanks for stopping by,

Michelle

Happy Valentines Day

Hello Everyone!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Sorry for not posing lately but I have been working a lot out of town and haven’t gotten to see my scrap room lately.

For today, I created a really cute and fast Valentine’s Day card for my son to give to a close friend.

I used the scallop circle nestabilites to create the card.  The trick is to set the die about 1/8 inch above the top of a scored piece of paper and cut.

I used the Bee Mine stamp from the Petite Perks set for Spring from CTMH.  The cardstock is last years In Color from SU.  I added a silver frame around the sentiment.

I used the scor pal and created a little matching envelope.  I cut a piece of cardstock 6 3/4 x 6 3/4 and scored at 4 1/4 on all corners. I added a CTMH pink bloom, button and some thread.

Thank so much for stopping by!

Old Friend

I found an old Army friend of mine recently.  He was the first person I met when I went to my duty station in Germany.  He took me to my first German restaurant and I had my first authentic German beer.
I decided to scrapbook a two page layout as a tribute and thank you to him.  I used the Felicity kit from CTMH along with the stamp set that came with the kit.

I cased one of the sample layouts as described in the Reflections book and added some additional touches.  I love CTMH basic craft buttons and added some to this layout.

I loved the flourish and used it in many places.  I added some little gems on some of the flourishes to give it a little something.

I also did some hand stitching around the boarder and in between the diamonds.  The little bird I stamped in Barn Yard Red on a piece of white cardstock and cut out.
Well, its time for me to go.  We got close to 18 inches of snow and I need to start digging the car out.
Have a great one,
Michelle
